Please note that all of the funds raised by the PTA go into our general fund account. The majority of money collected, however, is used to pay for the specialists at Vieja Valley School. Those specialists currently include our Art, Music, Computer, Science and PE Teachers and their program expenses, as well as a significant portion of the school counselor. These teachers and programs are NOT paid for by the state! The remaining funds raised by the PTA fundraisers are used to keep the PTA operational and provide fun events for the children and their families. Scrip is a way of raising money for Vieja Valley through local businesses, grocerty stores and national merchants; it does not cost you anything extra. Merchants contribute directly to the school’s PTA in exchange for your business. Popular gift cards are available during the year by visiting www.shopwithscrip.com setting up an account and entereing the Vieja Valley code LAF867D89845. You may also download a gift card order form here. You may pay for your Script card order by using the "donate" button above or by paying with PayPal on our website. Please indicate in the comment box that you are purchasing Scipt cards.

eScrip offers several wonderful and hassle-free ways for Vieja Valley families and friends to raise funds for our excellent programs! Register your Vons, Safeway, Albertsons and Ralphs grocery store club cards and a percentage of your purchases will be sent back to our school! IMAGINE ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN:

IMAGINE is Vieja Valley School’s Annual Giving Campaign. Each family will receive IMAGINE Campaign information with their first day packets. We have calculated that it costs approximately $500 per student to maintain the ART, MUSIC, COMPUTER, SCIENCE and PE programs. The PTA understands that $400 per student could be financially difficult for many families. Therefore, we hope that each of you will participate at a level for which you feel comfortable. It is our desire to make this year unique by having all families participate at some level. If we can show that 100% of our families have participated, be it at $50., the full $400. or beyond, our school could become eligible for outside funding and grants. So please donate at any level. Keep in mind, however, that without your generous donations, our PTA will soon deplete its reserves, thus making it impossible for us to continue to pay for our ART, COMPUTER, MUSIC, SCIENCE and PE programs and teachers! Our children depend on you! Thank you!

JOG-A-THON:

The Jog-A-Thon is back! This event is a great way to get our children moving and raise some money for Vieja. This event will be in late May or early June. If you would like to help with event please contact Cindy Norman at cindynorman@cox.net or 689-5210

PARTY BOOK:

This book is filled with parties that can be purchased. Parents are asked to sponsor parties, which are then purchased and attended by other parents and/or kids. The party can be as extravagant as an intimate concert with Kenny Loggins or as fun as a pizza toss at California Pizza Kitchen.

PLOW –TO – PORCH:

Vieja Valley is now participating in Plow to Porch’s Healthy School/Healthy Family fundraising program for schools. Our school can now raise funds while promoting a healthy diet and good nutrition, support for our local farms, and conservation of energy. With a minimum of five subscriber families, Personal Local Organic Produce Boxes will be delivered to our school at dismissal time. Click to download the enrollment form. Parents can collect their produce when they pick up their children. If there is an afterschool program on site, the Produce Boxes can be left for later pick up. Our school will earns 5% cash back on all orders monthly.

TEACHERS' WISH LIST:

Each year our teachers make a list of items they would like to have for their classroom. The school district does not supply these items. Parents can purchase these items for their child's teacher.
